Birth Story

Documentary Photography

Our Birth Story collections are for the expectant parents who want to remember every detail of their little one's amazing journey and want their newborn's first moments captured in a respectful and unobtrusive way. Each Birth Story Collection documents your entire birth, from active labor to two hours after your little one's grand entrance.

Of course you plan to soak in every moment and remember every detail of your baby's story. But, as you know, having a baby is hard work! This tunnel vision causes parents to quickly forget many of the tiny in-between moments. So ABH is here to make sure your birth is professionally preserved for you to look back on.

Your Birth Story images will be powerfully emotive as we document the raw emotions that surface during your labor and birthing journey. Your images will help you remember all the feels you felt leading up to that precious child in your arms.

Power • Uncertainty • Love • Excitement • Wonder

Having birth photography to look back on during the first few months postpartum is also extremely therapeutic and healing for new mamas who’s birth journey, for whatever reason, didn’t turn out quite like she had planned.

Hiring a professional Birth Photographer also frees up your support person to do what they do best, support YOU! (My husband’s attempt at documenting my son’s birth was a hot hot mess. #blurry #graphic)

And don’t forget! In addition to your labor and delivery, we will also document the story that unfolds during the first couple of hours after delivery. During this time we will document as much as possible; the cutting of the cord, baby being weighed, baby's first meal, spouse meeting baby. The list goes on and on! And every detail is what makes your Birth Story uniquely yours.

Jennifer Kreager with Artist by Heart Photography LLC was a pleasure to work with! She shot my c-section first and did a phenomenal job! I wanted to capture those moments behind the curtain that the mom usually doesn’t get to see and she took care of that for us! I just let her do the work and enjoyed the day (as much as you can with a c-section). We then used her for a lifestyle newborn shoot about 2 weeks after delivery to capture our new family of four.

As a boutique birth photographer, I aim to provide each family with my fullest attention. Birth photography is a luxury experience and in order to provide you with the best service, I only accept a small number of Birth Stories per year. My advice is to contact me as early in your pregnancy as possible to insure that I have availability during your birth month. And don’t worry, if you want to book your birth story before you have officially released the news, my lips are sealed.

Please contact me with your due date and delivery location of choice. If your due date is available on my calendar we will set up a date to discuss the birth photography details and any questions you may have. I want you to feel fully comfortable choosing me to document the intimate moments of your special day. And meeting up before hand, to grab a cup of coffee and chat, is a great way for you to see if I’m a good match for your needs.
